Project Description
Crimped Wired Beeswax Foundation with Hooks
Our foundation is of the highest quality and has perfectly milled cells with deep and exact walls. Pure beeswax foundation is best for the bees as it closest resembles what they build themselves in the wild.
Each of these wires has a steel hook on the top allowing for the foundation to be secured at the top of the frame. For any size of wired foundation, it is important to use wedged top bar and grooved bottom bar frames.
- Steel Hook fits behind the wedge in wedge top bar frames
- 9 vertical crimped steel wires radiate strength
- Perfectly milled cells
- Deep exact walls
- Use wedge top bar only and grooved or divided bottom bar
Shallow Honey Super size (4 3/4″ X 16 3/4″): Use with 5 5/8 Shallow Honey Supers and 5 3/8″ Frames
Medium Honey Super size (5 5/8″ X 16 3/4″): Use with 6 5/8 Medium Honey Supers and 6 1/4″ Frames
Deep Hive Body size (8 3/8″ X 16 3/4″): Use with 9 5/8″ Deep Hive Bodies and 9 1/8″ Frames
Pure beeswax can tend to absorb toxins, medication and pesticides from the hive over a period of time. We recommend to replace your beeswax foundation every 3 to 4 years to keep your hive healthy, happy and producing honey.
100% beeswax foundation sheets with vertical wires for added stability. The wire on the foundation “with hooks” extends past the top of the wax so it can be placed under the “wedge” piece of your frame to help hold it up. Best when used with a wedged top bar and split bottom bar. Beeswax is fragile in hot and cold temperatures, all beeswax foundation ships at the customers own risk for damage.
