Their small size makes them ideal for identifying and marking hive components.
For example, use them to mark hives with a telephone number.
If you have more than one colony, marking a code on all the components of a hive will help prevent disease cross contamination by ensuring all components stay with the same colony.
Numbers are best fixed with glue but they can also be pierced and nailed or pinned easily
